Volunteers are Hard at Work to Create a Legacy of Protection
Volunteers in Pennsylvania and Michigan are already hard at work helping us to connect with all of our members! Through personal notes of gratitude and inspiration, combined with a lot of hand-addressing and envelope-stuffing, our volunteers are helping to remind us of the values of having Green Amendments nationwide and the tremendous value that can be achieved when we pull our labor and our donations to make change.
When you get that letter, please be reminded of the dedication and care that went into putting that special mailing together and consider making a donation. Every dollar helps us.

Fountain Street Church
Did you see the Fiery Green Amendment Sermon Delivered at the Fountain Street Church? View the clip below to get a taste of the power of the message.
Maya van Rossum delivered the fiery sermon on Green Amendments & Democracy at the Fountain Street Church, from the same pulpit as Susan B. Anthony, Malcolm X, Winston Churchill and other historic figures that delivered their vision for a changed future.
Attendees at the church that day had a lot to say about the powerful speech:
“I’ve worked with Maya on this cause for a year, but her message at Fountain Street Church moved me like never before—twenty minutes of pure inspiration and truth.”
– Bill Knapp, Leader in the Michigan Green Amendment Coalition
“If you think you have a right to drink clean water, breathe fresh air, and have healthy soil, Maya’s speech will tell you just where your rights stand. This is a powerful speech that ends with reminding us WE THE PEOPLE do have the power to protect our environment.”
– Gloria Koch, Leader in the Michigan Green Amendment Coalition
Here is a short clip of Maya’s passionate testimony – even these few minutes are sure to have you feeling inspired, empowered, and ready to take action for OUR environmental rights!

New Jersey’s Campaign Led by Green Amendment Ambassadors Securing Municipal Resolutions of Support Continues to Shine
Green Amendments For The Generations has continued working with our partners the Pinelands Alliance, Waterspirit, the NJ League of Women Voters, and the NJ Student Sustainability Coalition to train and support Green Amendment Ambassadors who are going before local town counsels and faith and civic organizations to share the values a NJ Green Amendment would provide and to secure a resolution of support in response. The campaign continues to be an inspirational success.
Our most recent resolution training was held on October 15 at Medford Friends Meeting. We spoke before an energetic, involved crowd about the NJ Green Amendment, the current status of the movement, and how municipal and organizational resolutions of support get us one step closer to securing constitutional environmental rights in New Jersey. We even practiced sharing our environmental stories to get folks ready for the resolution ask, whether it be before their Town Council or a local organization.

Attendees of Green Amendments For The Generations’ Resolution Training at Medford Friends Meeting practice telling their environmental stories and what an NJ Green Amendment would mean to them.
We can’t wait to see what resolutions the passionate attendees of the training are able to secure with their hard work and dedication. In the meantime, we are excited to announce that the Borough of Oaklyn is the latest NJ Community to champion environmental rights by passing a resolution in support of the Green Amendment. A huge thank you to the Oaklyn Green Team, Tri-County Sustainability, and the Pinelands Alliance for their work to secure this latest resolution!
States Are Active – Each In Their Own Way
A lot is happening across the many states of the Green Amendment movement:
- Connecticut is gathering for an in-person strategy discussion;
- New Jersey continues with open house get-togethers and training community members to approach their town governments and ask for resolutions of support;
- Rhode Island is working to build its leadership team;
- New Mexico is considering its plan for 2026;
- Colorado is starting to see more interest in its efforts;
- Washington is growing its on-the-ground awareness and support.
Every state is at a different stage, but it is exciting to see the great ideas and energy that keeps emerging from this truly grassroots movement.
On Wednesday, October 29 at 12PM PT / 1PM MT / 2PM CT / 3PM ET we will be having a special gathering on our Action Platform– and YOU ARE INVITED! We are convening Green Amendment advocates from across the nation to come together and share their experiences in organizing, educating, and engaging their communities on the Green Amendment. We hope you will join us to share good ideas about how to advance the movement.
