In 2021, the people of New York voted overwhelmingly to pass the New York Green Amendment and with it, constitutional recognition and protection to our inalienable human right to clean water and air, and a healthful environment.Passage of the New York Green Amendment was truly “a dream realized”.Since that magical moment, when the people of New York exercised our democratic rights to amend our state constitution, government leaders have failed to join us in our environmental protection and environmental justice goals.Rather than uplift, defend and embrace our New York Green Amendment, the NY State Attorney General has gone to court with legal arguments that seek to undermine and narrow it.Please sign on to urge the NY Attorney General to embrace the NY Green Amendment as an empowering opportunity to better protect the people of New York, to address environmental racism, and to create a legacy of protection for all generations of New Yorkers.nygreenamendment.org/act-now/new-yorks-green-amendment-needs-your-voice/ ... HB2151 Is Still Moving Through The PA Legislature and We Need You To Say No AGAINThe bill language has changed but its issues have not:• The removal of the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) as the author of a model ordinance is an improvement, but replacing it with the Local Government Commission is still a concern. Legislators are split across the board on their positions on data centers, so whose interest will this ordinance be written for?• The current language states that municipalities can opt out of using the specific language of the model ordinance, but then what is the need for a law in the first place ?
